DAY ONE
BREAKING THE SPELL
Returning to the Wild Self, the Ancestors & the Land.
Marrissa Rhodes:
The Return of the Wild Self
About Marrissa
Marrissa Rhodes is a licensed psychoanalytic psychotherapist, intuitive energy worker, and lifelong student of the soul who has been reading energy and sensing beneath the surface since childhood. She is also the host of the podcast, Reverence for Rêverie. As an advanced candidate in psychoanalytic training and faculty member at the local Psychoanalytic Institute, Marrissa is committed to making the richness of psychoanalysis more accessible, soulful, and embodied. She works at the deep end of the healing spectrum, honoring both the roots and the sky: how we are shaped in relationship and how we reach toward what calls us next.
A quiet rebel at heart, Marrissa doesn’t fit molds. She dissolves and reimagines them. She is deeply reverent of tradition, yet unwilling to stay inside any structure that flattens the fullness of truth. Her work synthesizes the rigor of psychoanalysis, the subtlety of energy medicine, the science of the quantum, and the wild mystery of the symbolic.
She follows synchronicity like a breadcrumb trail and believes in building a life and a legacy that can hold the full truth and multiplicity of who we are. Whether through her poetry & written works, private mentorship, or psycho-spiritual leadership, Marrissa helps soul-led visionaries and leaders reclaim their emotional range, anchor into their symbolic intelligence, and build the inner architecture required to hold the life they're calling in.
She lives in Kansas City with her husband, three radiant children (who are her deepest why), three pups, and two cats. Marrissa is an avid reader, a nature lover, and a firm believer in iced lattes. You’ll find her most alive when she’s writing without any rules, listening to the land, or mid-conversation with the Mystery.

Angell Deer
Leadership at the Edge of Collapse
About Angell
Angell Deer is a mystic, medicine man, animist teacher, ordained minister, beekeeper, international speaker, and sacred disruptor. He is the founder of Sacred Paths and the New York Bee Sanctuary, and a devoted steward of rewilding projects across the U.S. and Europe. He is the author of Becoming the Medicine (Balboa Press / Hay House, Nov 2025) and The Sacred Web: The Magical Craft of Your Sacred Shamanic Space (Self published in 2023).
With over two decades of spiritual and ecological work, Angell’s life is dedicated to remembering and transmitting ancient wisdom. He walks the path of Andean Cosmology and Norse Shamanism, learning from elders, communing with the land, and listening for the old songs that still live in the trees, the bones, and the breath.
A weaver of stories, people, and worlds, he teaches from the fertile ground where grief meets grace, and where purpose is forged in the fire of personal and planetary transformation. His work calls us back to a more-than-human world, where healing is relational, and prayer is made with both hands in the soil.
Angell is trained as a Veterinarian, Medicine Man, Herbalist, Reiki Master, Breathwork Practitioner, and Meditation Teacher. He has served as an advisor to the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), and spoken at Harvard Business School, the French Embassy in New York, and global gatherings such as the French Davos Forum and the Concert for Earth, where he was honored as an “Earth Rockstar.”
For twenty years, Angell stewarded The Sanctuary in the Catskills—an intimate refuge for the sacred and a living altar to healing, rewilding, and the remembrance of what it means to be fully human. He now lives with his wife and children at La Ferme du Cerf Bleu, a renovated 18th-century farm in Burgundy, France, in devotion to land, community, and the mystery—tending to trees, bees, and ancestral ceremony.

Stories of the Ancient Now
About Tanya
Tanya Taylor Rubinstein is an Ancestral witch, writing mentor, storyteller, story innovator and lover of mesas and mountains, particularly in her adopted home of 30 years, the high desert of the Tewa and Dine land in New Mexico.
Like many of those whose people landed here on Turtle Island, she has wildly mixed Ancestry.
On her mother's paternal side, she is the daughter and granddaughter of colonizers (English and French on the Indigenous land of the Wampanoag (People of the First Light) and the Massachusett (People of the Great Hill), along with other related Algonquian-speaking groups like the Pawtucket and Nipmuc, who inhabited these lands for millennia before European colonization.
Also on her mother's maternal side, she is the grand daughter of a line of heredity witches from the Isle of Skye and Isle of Lewis in Scotland. Her clan, the MacArthurs, were traditional bagpipers for the Campbell clan.
On her father's side, she is a decedent of Irish Catholics who were brutally colonized by the British, with many of her people from County Sligo.
Through the blessing of an adjacent milk line of Ancestors, and her conversion, she is also an anti-Zionist Jew.
Over the past twenty- six years, she has helped thousands of people write their stories as books, monologues and one- person plays. She is also a Family Constellations practitioner and the founder of the Somatic Writing process.
Her work has been featured on NPR, CBS Early Show, ABC news and in "O" Magazine, Spirituality and Health as well as on numerous podcasts and local radio shows, spanning three decades.
